ABSTRACT: This study examines the role of digital literacy in vocational skill development, focusing on its impact on employability and career progression in the digital age. The objectives were to (1) assess the current level of digital literacy among vocational students, (2) evaluate the impact of digital literacy on vocational skill acquisition and employment outcomes, and (3) propose strategies to integrate digital literacy into vocational training programs. A survey design was chosen to gather data from students, educators, and employers to understand the state of digital literacy and its implications. The sample size comprised 220 participants, selected through a purposive sampling technique to include those directly involved in vocational training and employment. The case study was conducted in Abuja, Nigeria, a region with growing digital infrastructure. Findings revealed that digital literacy significantly enhanced vocational skill acquisition and employability by enabling students to leverage technology in their training and job roles. However, gaps in digital literacy training were noted. Recommendations included integrating digital literacy into all vocational training programs, providing continuous professional development for educators on digital tools, and partnering with technology companies to ensure students have access to the latest digital resources and training.
